To accept in-person payments, your NextGen Terminal reader needs to be paired with your Point of Sale (POS) application via Bluetooth or a local Wi-Fi network.
Turn on the reader by pressing the side button. Once the screen lights up, open your POS software, navigate to "Hardware Settings," and select "Discover Readers." Your device's serial number will appear on the screen. Tap to connect.
If your reader drops its connection mid-transaction or says "Offline," follow these steps:
- Ensure the reader has at least 20% battery remaining.
- Verify your iPad or POS terminal is connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network as the reader (Guest networks often block device communication).
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds to perform a hard reset.
